Ever since I was little, I've lover astronomy. This love is easy to see in some of my works even today. It is far too obvious that I love the universe we live in. I can recite legends and facts without thinking about it. To be brutally honest, I am more of a geek for astronomy than I am for anything else.
Save, of course, for my beloved myths and legends. I tend to have both heavily influence my writing. I'll give examples now, in fact.
Why not take Autumn, for instance? Now, for the readers who do not know who Autumn is, I will give a quick explanation. Autumn Eve Trinity is a character, who was created in a strange moment when my beloved girlfriend decided we would start having X-Men roleplays.
Autumn usually starts out in her stories anywhere from twelve to fifteen years old. Sometimes, it takes place when she's still at home in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The township, not the city. Her father, Harold Ray, and mother, Trudy, are both church-going people, loyal to the bible, and god-fearing folk. (Of course, Harold is much more complex than he will ever appear to be.) Harold is the CEO and founder of the Trinity Corporation. What in specializes in has never actually been specified, so it's become some kind of joke, I suppose. (Much like the Kukai Foundation in Xenosaga. For real. What do they do?) She has a twin brother named Arthur, and two younger siblings, Timothy and Diana.
Now, while Autumn's father is a mutant himself, he cannot stand mutants. Calls them sins against God. So when poor little Autumn, usually around six or seven years old, starts showing that she has powers, her father goes insane with rage. First, he calmly tries to instill in his daughter that they're bad. This fails and she grows more rebellious, and by the time she hits thirteen, she is downright a daughter from hell. In fact, what she does on her thirteenth birthday sends Harold over the edge.
Under her breasts, just under them, she gets the words "God is Sin" tattooed. Harold finds out about this thanks to his telepathy. In response to this, he takes her to the basement of the church and forever scars her by carving three names into her back. Uriel, Raphael and Gabriel. The names of three angels, chosen for their meanings.
It usually is after this that I like to begin her story, sending her either to the deep south of New Orleans, a place she admires for the almost unrealistic freedom, or the Xavier Institute for obvious reasons.
Now, Autumn is an illusionist. Known, nowadays, as Mistress Myth. (Dear god, that sounds like a stripper name.)
Why, you ask, do I mention her for this? In some variations of Autumn's life, such as a fantasy one I tested out once or twice, she is very in-tune with the cosmos. One thing I was going to try was an entire story taking place in one of her more beautiful illusions, tied in with some mythology about the stars.
But surely, the most powerful of her appearances involving the stars will be in The Arcana. And when I finish, I think you will understand...
And with that in mind, I started The Arcana finally. We kick it off with The Fool.
Please do enjoy, and note the heavy Tarot influence. Each "Issue" will be titled with the name of a card in the Major Arcana, in order. As such, these chapters will also involve a character who represents this piece of the Major Arcana. They are;

Sincerely,
Your Star-Crossed, Wannabe Author, Krystiana.
